Daniel is an economist from the Technological University of Bolívar in Cartagena, Colombia. He has a Master's in Economics from the Universidad de Los Andes and Ph.D. in Economics from Washington State University as a Fulbright scholar.

Daniel focuses a lot of his research on beer in Latin America and beyond. He’s written several academic pieces, including: 1) “Beer Snobs Do Exist: Estimation of Beer Demand by Type”; 2) “The Beer Industry in Latin America”; and 3) The Craft Brewing Industry in Latin America: The Case of Colombia.”
